Stepping Into Homeownership
This is a four week class, held every month, that offers individuals the opportunity to review their financial status, determine how much of a home they can afford to buy, assess their credit standing, and understand the process of purchasing a home. Participants have the ability to make an appointment with a homeownership counselor to work on individual issues.

Financing Home Improvements
This class covers the options available to finance home improvements, including the costs of credit. This class also explores the difference between a line of credit, an equity loan, and other options such as community grants. Students also learn about various community loan programs available in Northeast Ohio to help finance home improvements.

Home Equity & Refinancing
This class explains the difference between mortgage refinancing, home equity loans, and lines of credit. Students learn how to determine which option is best for their circumstances. The class meets for two weeks and also provides information on predatory lending, mortgage terms, credit, and cash flow.

Whether students have been in a Cleveland Housing Network home for a few days or a few years, this class helps to understand CHN's rental policies and the rights and responsibilities of a lease purchaser. This class is for Cleveland Housing Network lease purchasers only.

This class is designed for Cleveland Housing Network residents who are preparing to buy their home through CHN’s Lease Purchase program. This class helps to understand the buying process, and what residents’ can do right now to prepare for this big step. This class explains each step in the process, including how to protect theright to purchase when the lease is up, and how to protect the rights of a resident’s heirs. This class is for Cleveland Housing Network lease purchasers only.
