How Does Your Money Grow?
A four-week class that reviews spending habits, goals, priorities, and what to consider when making decisions about how to spend money. Group discussions and role-playing help students identify their own spending habits and determine where changes are necessary.

Understanding and Improving Your Credit
In this class, students learn how to read their credit report, how to pay off old debts, improve their credit rating, and re-establish credit. How much does it cost to use a credit card? Students explore whether to use a layaway plan, or take out a loan. This class reviews the hidden costs of credit.

Saving & Investing
This is a three-week class that will help participants design a savings plan that is based on their individual goals. Students explore the different vehicles for saving money, and learn about community programs designed to promote saving. Also, this class provides information on life insurance as an investment.

Get Checking
This three-week class offers the opportunity to open an account that works, with a participating financial institution, even if the student has had problems in the past. This program is designed for people who do not have an account with a financial institution and for those in ChexSystems. Once a student completes this program, he or she will receive a certificate that enables the student to open an account at a participating bank, as long as outstanding balances from previous accounts have been paid. There is a $25 fee for this program. Consumers who cannot afford the $25 fee may be able to pay a reduced fee based on income.
