This is a free event to help provide potential First-time homebuyers with the opportunity to ask the professionals in the industry questions about getting available resources to purchase a home. Panelists from *OHFA, *Third Federal Savings & Loan, *Dollar Bank, *Cuyahoga Community Land Trust, NHS/Cuyahoga County & others will be available to share information on their funding and answer questions you may have about incentives such as grants, matching savings, discounts on closing costs, etc to go towards your purchase. You may have questions about eligibility, the process of applying, deadlines and how much money is available.

Stepping Into Homeownership
Held once a week for 4 weeks in 2-hour sessions. The class covers the process of purchasing a home, clearing up credit, determining how much you can afford to spend on a home, mortgage terms, and the art of successful homeownership. Appointments are also available with skilled homeownership advisors to help you clear up credit and qualify for a mortgage loan.

HomeSmart
This program is designed for homeowners and Lease Purchase residents that are getting ready to purchase. HomeSmart provides education and group discussion around topics including Understanding Home Equity, Evaluating Credit Offers, Hiring a Contractor, Mortgage Calculators, Paying your Home off Early, and Making Sound Financial Decisions as a Homeowner. Completion of this 6-week class, homework assignments and a meeting with a homeownership counselor can qualify you for a free refurbished computer.
