Our Homeownership program offers classes and counseling to prepare you for the responsibilities of being or becoming a homeowner or to help existing homeowners better manage their assets. Classes are free of charge and scheduled during daytime and evening hours. We are conveniently located in the Community Training Center at CHN’s main offices in Asia Plaza at 2999 Payne Avenue in Cleveland. Parking is free.
HomeSmart Classes – 6 week class, 2-hours per session per week
Series required for Lease Purchase residents prior to purchasing their homes. If you cannot make all class dates, notify your instructor for make-up options.
Our Home Smart series provides existing or new homeowners a group learning forum around understanding home equity, evaluating credit offers, hiring a contractor, using mortgage calculators, paying a home off early, and making sound financial decisions as a homeowner.

Life as a Lease Purchaser Class – 2-hour class
Required for all CHN Lease Purchase residents prior to moving into their homes.
The two-hour class covers the responsibilities as a tenant of the Cleveland Housing Network. It also covers the preparation process required in purchasing your home.

Stepping Into Homeownership
This is a four hour workshop that will help guide you through the steps to homeowneship, the lending process, understanding how much you can truly afford, budgeting for extra homeownership expenses, and the art of successful homeownership.
You must also attend a
"My Money" session and schedule an individual counseling session to get a certificate of completion for this course.
This class will be held quarterly.

Our counselors will work with you individually to work toward your homeownership goals, from saving for down payment, to improving credit scores, to analyzing loans or budgeting for loan payments.
