Helping Families Break the Cycle of Poverty

Established in March of 2002, the Community Training Center has quickly earned its place as the epicenter of the Cleveland Housing Network’s (CHN) comprehensive approach to community and family development. Programs at the Center have been carefully designed to work hand in hand with CHN's well-crafted housing programs to improve the prospects of Cleveland families. The Center offers a strategic array of technology, money management, and homeownership training classes that together are helping to light a pathway out of poverty for low-income families in Cleveland. This Next Generation strategy is based on CHN’s extensive experience in coupling affordable housing and homeownership options with comprehensive family support services and effective tools to promote lasting employment.

The Center is open to all Northeast Ohio residents interested in financial literacy, homeownership, and technology training. It is located in a 2,700-square-foot former KeyBank branch, centrally located just east of downtown at the corner of E. 40th Street and St. Clair Avenue. The Center enhances CHN’s programs with a state-of-the-art educational and training facility, featuring 17 computer workstations, high-speed Internet access, adaptable training and classroom space, private counseling offices, flexible hours, and a community resource kiosk.
