CHN Selected by Tri-C as New GED Prep Site CHN is pleased to announce it will be offering a GED Preparation program through its Community Training Center (CTC). The CTC was one of five agencies selected as a Tri-C preparation site. The classes are preparing participants for the GED exam through tutoring and in-depth reviews of materials. Students can also prepare for the exam in the CTC’s public computer lab at anytime using the online resources provided by Tri-C. More than a dozen students are actively participating in the program through the Community Training Center, with more expected to join in the following months. Classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. until May 2010. The CTC’s partnership with Tri-C began in 2008 with computer classes taught at our site by Tri-C instructors. This program has provided an opportunity for participants to learn about—and become comfortable with the idea of going to college. This partnership with Tri-C has presented the CTC with an additional opportunity to enhance the lives of those we serve by providing them with resources to further their education. Recognized as a local best practice model, the Community Training Center is the epicenter for CHN services that go beyond bricks and mortar. Since 2002, the CTC has been providing Clevelanders with computer education and training, financial literacy and home ownership preparation.
