The Cleveland Housing Network offers a special program called Connect Your Community (CYC), a national effort led by
OneCommunity to train, equip and connect 5,250 residents through computer training, high-speed Internet (where available) and subsidized refurbished computer equipment.
CYC students who complete the class series have the opportunity to receive subsidized computer equipment and be provided with guidance to acquire Internet access in their own homes. On average, CYC students complete 25 hours of class training at convenient sites across our community.
To enroll in Connect Your Community:
Sign up for orientation.
Contact CHN’s Community Training Center at 216-881-8443. At orientation, you will be given a list of classes which include required as well as elective courses. If CHN isn’t a convenient location you may choose to attend orientation and take classes at
another location.
There are no classes to register for at this present time.
Complete "Basics and Beyond":
All students begin with basic computer training. Your instructor will choose the next area to cover based on your interests. Advanced elective classes may include online communications, personal finance management, online lifestyle, online job search and resume building or Microsoft Office.
Get Connected:
Once you’ve completed training, you will attend a class that covers the computer buying process and teaches you to shop around for the appropriate internet provider. CHN will assist you to ensure you have access to a computer and the internet in your home upon completing CYC training.
