CHN celebrated its 25th anniversary on Thursday, September 21, 2006 at the Hyatt Regency at the Cleveland Arcade. Over 150 guests were in attendance to congratulate current board and staff and honor former members of CHN's Board of Directors and former Executive Directors for their leadership in providing affordable housing to Clevelanders.

Former Congressman Louis Stokes presented the 2006 Louis Stokes Affordable Housing Hero to Gail Long, former Executive Director of Merrick House and former CHN Vice President and board member. Gail has been in the forefront of community organizing and helped to create peaceful relations between racial and ethnic groups, and worked diligently to assure affordable health care and housing for Cleveland's poorest citizens.
