The mission of CHN is to develop affordable housing for low- and moderate-income Clevelanders, with a special emphasis on generating pathways out of poverty and providing homeownership opportunities.

  • 2,400 Lease Purchase homes
  • 1,350 for-sale (Homeward) homes
  • 71,000 energy conservation and home repair jobs
  • 300 multifamily units (HOPE VI and Section 8)

CHN will carry out this mission by working in partnership with community development corporations to develop capital and manage programs that generate hope and healthy market forces in Cleveland's neighborhoods.

  • Helped 700 families obtain employment and leave public assistance
  • Permanent housing coupled with supportive services for 300 formerly homeless families
  • 90% of all lease purchase families take title to their homes in "Year 16"
  • Develop permanent support housing apartments (52 units completed, 154 units in the pipeline)
  • 2,532 units under management
